the Naval Commander-in-Chief.

I have

ascertained that the War Office agree

to this course and are issuing instruc-

tions to the General Officer Commanding

all

to that effect. If you agree I should

be glad if you will arrange for the

proposed discussion as soon as may be

convenient.

The War Office have

suggested that the result of the

deliberat ions will require examination

as to the bearing of the Washington

Treaty on the proposed construction

of a new magazine, and I shall be

lad if this consideration can be

borne in mind. When agreement has been

reached with the Naval and Military

authorities this aspect of the

matter will be considered in consulta-

tion with the Foreign Office.
